Aung Zaw Aye‡

Aung Zaw Aye was commander of the Triangle Regional Military Command with the rank of Brigadier General from at least 17 to at least 27 August 2015. He was then promoted in rank to Major General by at least 30 September 2015 and continued to command Triangle Regional Command until April 2018. In April 2018 he was transferred to command Northeastern Regional Military Command, a position he held until at least 5 December 2020. All allegations of violations being committed by units under his command occurred while he held the rank of Major General. Our methodology never assumes people with the same or similar names in two different positions are the same person. We need a source to say they are the same person. It is likely that this person is the same as Aung Zaw Aye.
