Tin Maung Win‡

Tin Maung Win was promoted to being a senior army commander in August 2010 when he was promoted to command the Southwestern Regional Military Command (he was previously commander of the 22 Light Infantry Division). He held this position until 30 June 2011 when he became commander of Western Regional Military Command on 1 July 2011. His career after this point is unclear. We never assume people with the same or similar names in two different positions is the same person. We need a source to say to say they are the same person. However, the timelines of careers and ranks, as well as the match in names means that this commander might be the same as Tin Maung Win‡ but we are lacking a source to confirm this.
