Aung Lin Dwe was appointed commander of Western Regional Military Command on 1 July 2014. He continued to command Western Regional Military Command to at least 15 June 2015. He held the rank of Major General from at least 22 January 2015 to at least 15 June 2015. While holding the rank of Major General commanding the Western Regional Military Command there was at least one alleged disappearance, killing, rape or torture committed by unit(s) under his command. He was then promoted in rank to Lieutenant General as of 1 February 2021. He was made Secretary of the State Administration Council on 1 February 2021. He also served as Judge Advocate General from at least 1 February 2021 to January 2022. Our methodology never assumes people with the same or similar names in two different positions are the same person. We need a source to say they are the same person. It is likely that this person is the same as Aung Lin Dway‡.
