Maung Maung Aye
Maung Maung Aye was appointed to be the commander of the Naypyidaw Regional Military Command with the rank of Brigadier General in August 2010. He was then promoted to the rank of Major General by at least 3 September 2011 and continued in that rank to command Naypyidaw Regional Military Command to at least 27 March 2015. He was promoted in rank to Lieutenant General and became “Chief of Armed Training Forces” in August 2015, holding this position and rank until 4 February 2021. On 4 February 2021 he was appointed to be Joint Chief of Staff with the rank of Lieutenant General. He was then promoted to the rank of General by at least 24 March 2021 and has continued to be Joint Chief of Staff with the rank of General to at least 29 September 2023.
